This intelligent, high-speed non-destructive sorting system is designed for online hardness verification and heat treatment quality control of metal workpieces, serving bearing, gear, fastener, automotive, and hydraulic component manufacturers.

Equipped with nine independent eddy current probes in a flexible multi-zone array, it enables simultaneous detection at multiple positions on each workpiece, improving coverage and reducing missed defects. It handles carbon steels, alloy steels, and cast irons (HRC 20-65) at speeds up to 200 pieces/min with a 150 ms response time. The instrument covers 100 Hz to 1 MHz, gain 0-99 dB in 0.1 dB steps, and 0-360 degree phase rotation in 1 degree increments. Advanced filtering includes low-pass (1 Hz-10 kHz), high-pass (0.1 Hz-650 Hz), and multi-filter options. It features 5 impedance ranges, sampling up to 200,000 SPS, and adjustable probe drive (1%-100%). All parameters are controlled via a bilingual touchscreen with real-time impedance display, fast digital/analog balancing, memory trace blanking, and remote auto-help. The system is compatible with any probe type and includes automatic calibration using reference blocks.

When hardness deviations or heat treatment defects (under-hardening, over-tempering, decarburization, mixed materials, insufficient case depth) are found, it triggers alarms and outputs sorting signals for rejection or marking. It stores all data with timestamps, supports SPC charts for trend analysis, and generates detailed reports for full traceability. With robust construction, flexible probe mounting, temperature compensation, strong noise immunity, and seamless MES/ERP integration via Ethernet or RS-485, this machine fully meets the stringent quality demands of modern metal processing industries.

The Nine-Channel Probe Hardness Sorting Machine consists of 5 core modules for fully automated online sorting:

1. Automatic Feeding & Conveying Mechanism – Handles various workpieces (rings, shafts, fasteners, gears) with a robust vibratory bowl or belt feeder, delivering parts at speeds up to 200 pieces/min. Anti-jamming design and adjustable speed control ensure smooth, uninterrupted flow, while optional part orientation guides align each workpiece for consistent entry into the test zone.
2. Precision Positioning & Centering Unit – Uses pneumatic or servo-driven clamps to center each workpiece accurately under the nine probes. The unit maintains a fixed lift-off distance (typically 0.5-2 mm) despite minor dimensional variations, with fine adjustment knobs for quick changeover between different part sizes. A built-in linear encoder ensures precise position feedback.
3. Nine-Channel Multi-Probe Detection Core – Features nine independently adjustable eddy current probes arranged in a linear or circular array to cover multiple test points or zones simultaneously. Each probe has its own frequency (100 Hz-1 MHz), gain (0-99 dB, 0.1 dB steps), phase (0-360 deg, 1 deg steps), and filter settings. The probes are wear-resistant and quick-change, supporting both absolute and differential modes for enhanced defect sensitivity.
4. Intelligent Signal Processing & Analysis Unit – Digitally processes signals from all nine channels with high-speed ADCs. It offers 5 selectable impedance ranges, sampling up to 200,000 SPS, and complex filtering (low-pass, high-pass, and notch filters). The unit performs automatic balancing and zeroing, stores up to 100 product parameter sets, and provides real-time statistical analysis (mean, standard deviation, Cp/Cpk) for process monitoring.
5. Real-Time Alarm & Automatic Sorting Module – Triggers audible and visual alarms when any channel detects out-of-tolerance hardness. It outputs relay or PLC-compatible signals for rejecting, marking, or diverting defective parts. The module also logs every test result with time stamp and part ID, supports Ethernet/USB data export, and generates detailed inspection reports for full quality traceability.
